Our Focus Areas: A Holistic Approach to Sustainability
We structure our sustainability work into three key pillars:
🌍 Green Planet
We are committed to environmental responsibility, ensuring that our cocoa supply chain contributes to biodiversity, deforestation-free sourcing, and climate action.
• 100% organic cocoa – eliminating synthetic pesticides & herbicides
• Agroforestry initiatives – promoting sustainable farming practices
• Reducing emissions – improving transport, packaging & production footprint
• EUDR compliance – meeting strict deforestation-free regulations
🤝 Smiling People
We believe in fair compensation, safe working conditions, and community development.
• Living Income is a Fundamental Right – we work with suppliers to ensure cocoa farmers earn a sustainable livelihood
• Gender equity & inclusion – supporting women in cocoa farming
• Preventing child labor – strict policies & supplier collaborations
• Transparency in farmgate pricing – tracking compensation & improving farmer resilience
🏢 Sound Business
Sustainability is only possible when ethical business practices support long-term impact.
• Supplier partnerships for responsible sourcing
• Industry-wide collaboration & transparency
• Consumer trust through high sourcing standards
• Grievance Mechanism for accountability
🔍 Transparency & Accountability: How to Raise Concerns
To ensure ethical sourcing, fair labor practices, and environmental responsibility, we provide a Grievance Mechanism that allows anyone within our supply chain—farmers, workers, suppliers, and stakeholders—to report concerns confidentially.
How It Works
1️⃣ Who Can Report?
Anyone affected by or involved in our cocoa supply chain—including farmers, workers, NGOs, and trade partners.
2️⃣ What Issues Can Be Reported?
🚨 Child labor or unsafe working conditions
🌍 Environmental concerns (e.g., deforestation, pesticide use)
⚖️ Unfair wages or unethical business practices
🔍 Traceability or compliance concerns
3️⃣ How to Submit a Grievance
• Via Email: Contact us at sweetfuture (at) malmochokladfabrik dot se
• Via Supplier Networks: If applicable, through Pronatec, Tradin Organics, Uncommon Cacao, or other supplier-specific channels
• Confidentiality: All reports are handled discreetly. We do not tolerate retaliation against whistleblowers.
4️⃣ What Happens Next?
✔️ We acknowledge receipt of your concern within 7 days
✔️ We investigate in collaboration with relevant partners
✔️ We take corrective action where necessary and provide follow-up
Collaborating for a Sustainable Future
We believe that sustainability is an ongoing journey—one that requires transparency, innovation, and collaboration. By integrating a robust grievance mechanism within our broader Sweet Future strategy, we aim to build a responsible and resilient cocoa supply chain.
